Volunteers of Karelia will help in holding the Winter Swimming World Championship

 

From March 21 to 27 in Petrozavodsk, in the waters of Lake Onega, the international winter swimming competitions "Karelia-2022" will be held. The organizer of the volunteer program is the Resource Center of Volunteerism of Karelia. 70 volunteers will help in holding international winter swimming competitions.
 
Volunteers are expected at the venue, at the accreditation and information center, as translators and animators, in award and technical groups. "Karelia-2022" is a recognition of the highest organizational capabilities of the competition. Petrozavodsk has an excellent infrastructure to prove it. Already, about 400 athletes from 18 countries are ready to take part in the competition

Of course, you cannot do without the help of volunteers, ”said Igor Lukin, the organizer of the competition, the head coach of the Russian national winter swimming team. Until January 20, residents of the republic from 16 years of age and older have the opportunity to apply to join the team of volunteers and help in hosting a major world event. To participate, candidates must have communication skills and resistance to stress, be able to work in a team.

Previously, Petrozavodsk has already twice hosted major winter swimming competitions: in 2019, the World Cup, in 2021 - the Russian Open Championship.

In September of this year, the sporting event took part in the Volunteer Resource Center competition for the implementation of the volunteer program, where it won the full range of work on recruiting volunteer candidates, selecting, training and managing volunteers at the event.
